As a part of my second co-op with Xana Ad Hoc Studio, I helped maintain and expand on the website for their main game in development, Changeling. This co-op was once again over a three-month period working 40 hours a week in a professional environment, though in this session I got the chance to work with over 80 different developers and artists, the largest scale project or job I've had yet. We held daily stand-ups with our team leads and practiced "agile-development", holding "playtests" and gathering user feedback every other week. We also kept track of workflow using the programs Trello and Clickup. Though I had previously worked on the main Changeling game in Unreal Engine 4, this time around I decided to work on the Web Team to see a different side of the project, as well as to get further web development experience.

For the first few weeks of this internship block, I spent time working on updating part of the front page and the character page in order to improve accessibility and readability on different browsers and devices. I made many small and necessary changes, such as a different video imbed system for the front page (that way the YouTube logo wasn't constantly in the way), and a re-haul to the flying "props" on the characters page to prevent them from making the character bios harder to read. I got plenty of web-application design and creation experience from this portion of my co-op, especially in learning how to account for different screen-sizes, browsers and devices. I learned a lot more about jumping into a massive pre-existing project and the ways that something that has been in development for so many years can be updated to modern standards.

For the latter half of my time on the Changeling Web Team, I worked on fully re-hauling one of several "tie-in experiences" for the main game (basically short interactive content to draw players into the full Changeling experience). My assignment was "Kirsten's Experience"; previously a 3D sandbox with no direction that I rebuilt almost entirely from scratch with level design done by Kyra Cruse, another intern on the Web Team. The entire parkour challenge was created using Three.js (mainly for graphics) and Cannon-es (mainly for physics), taking heavy inspiration from Minecraft parkour challenges and Elmo's World of all things. Here I gained experience working effectively entirely from scratch with a pre-existing property (the Changeling world and the character "Kirsten" from the main game), making all my own design docs and completely documenting my development process for the next set of Changeling interns.
